Mini-school on Nuclear Reaction Theories for Nuclear Astrophysics University of Surrey, January 7th -9th, 2009 _________________________________________________ |
|
Background: In the Surrey tradition, we are running this theoretical Mini-school at Surrey to coincide with and take advantage of the final visit of Ian Thompson (now Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory) under the auspices of an STFC Visiting Researcher Grant. The Mini-school will take place from lunchtime on Wednesday 7th January through lunchtime on Friday 9th January and will give an opportunity for UK PhD students and postdoctoral researchers to gain an exposure to the theoretical underpinnings of reaction methodologies relevant to astrophysical measurements and provide interactions with theorists. Mini-school schedule and links to lecture presentation files: Timetable and locations can be found here. The School lectures will take place in room 35AC04 (that is Room 35 on Floor 04 of Building AC ). A campus map can be found here which shows the location of the AC building in the central academic buildings area. If you arrive early, the coffee room in the Physics Department is Room 30BB03. If you need assistance then please call Cristobel in the Physics office on 01483 686800.
